This multi talented engineer & performer currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Recording Industry Association and is widely known and respected throughout the music industry in both Canada and the U.S. for his many years of dedication and vision. In June 2006 he was very honoured to be included in the success of The Corb Lund Band's "Five Dollar Bill" CD that went Certified Canadian Gold for selling over 50,000 units.In 2003 at the Western Canadian Music Awards, Barry was presented with both the Engineer of the Year award and the Studio of the Year Award. He was also recognized by the Prairie Music Alliance in 2001 & 2002 as the Engineer of the Year.
He has enjoyed a successful career as a recording artist, both solo and as a member of The Rebels and Painter who were signed collectively to Capitol Records and Electra/Asylum Records USA. As a solo artist Barry was signed to Capitol Records garnering two Juno awards as Canada's Most Promising Male Vocalist and as Canada's Top Male Vocalist. He also had an album produced for MCA Records by Randy Bachman, as well he played host for a national CTV music show. He has also won numerous awards for his producing/engineering skills from ARIA in recognition of his abilities.
